Poetry in Union
On Valentines day I got to sit in Union Station and write poetry for strangers, inspired by their loved ones. This event was such a balm - to connect with people, to remember that poetry is a gift, that it's about love and words and giving... to listen intently and do something with that listening. It was so nourishing and beautiful - from the little red cups scattered around, to the man who gave me mentos, to the stories told to me by trusting people - oh - just so beautiful to be tangibly reminded that we all belong to each other. To be reminded of what poetry is, where it comes from - that deep place inside of us that is vulnerable and hungry and playful. Photos by Paul David Esposti.
