Maximalism Commission
This year I collaborated with Accent Décor on creating things that celebrate being a woman. This is a short and fun time lapse of me working on a commissioned painting that got turned into a print for Accent Decor. I’m learning that I approach almost everything I do with a combination of joy and fear. Maybe it’s a kind of reverence; if I’m going to add anything to our world, I want it to be something worth adding. I try my best to make that true. And I take it really seriously, this wild gift that I have of making things. As I made this I felt a little playful about ease telling the devil to “zip it” but I also felt annoyance about the ways women have been written into and out of history.
