CODE Canada

CODE Canada is a not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to support and promote literacy in countries other than Canada with early-reader support materials. Their support materials are generally written and illustrated by artists and writers from those countries. One of the countries where they work is Sierra Leone. I have lived there on and off throughout my life (and spent my early childhood there!). My drawings of people in Sierra Leone come out of my love for this home of mine, and my neighbours there. Many of their materials need to be created in black and white for ease of reproduction.
